Conegliano sweep Milano 3–0 to claim a ninth Scudetto
Imoco Conegliano closed out the women’s Scudetto Final with a commanding 3–0 win over Allianz Vero Volley Milano. After dropping Game 3, the “Pantere” returned in full control, taking the sets 25–17, 25–22, 25–22 with sharper attacking and constant defensive coverage. Isabelle Haak was named MVP with 19 points, while Paola Egonu finished with 24 but couldn’t pull Milano back into the match. The title is Conegliano’s ninth overall and eighth consecutive, confirming De Gennaro and teammates as the most dominant force in Italy.
A separate stats-focused piece underlined the gap: Conegliano hit 45% in attack versus Milano’s 34%, posted 12 blocks to Milano’s 8, and won the reception battle (55% positive for Conegliano, 38% for Milano).
Serie A2 men: Pineto and Prata take Game 1
The A2 playoff semifinals opened with wins for Abba Pineto and Tinet Prata di Pordenone (photo). Pineto beat Virtus Aversa 3–1 (25–21, 25–21, 23–25, 30–28) behind 18 points from Krauchuk and 16 from Suraci. In the other series, Prata won 3–1 away at Brescia (18–25, 25–19, 25–18, 25–16), driven by Jernej Terpin and Roberto Lucconi.
Earlier in the day, Volleyball.it previewed the matchups—Brescia–Prata at 20:00 and Pineto–Aversa at 20:30—both best-of-three series with Game 1 (and a potential Game 3) hosted by the higher seed.
Piacenza lift the CEV Cup
Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza captured the first European trophy in club history, beating SVG Lüneburg 3–0 (25–20, 25–17, 25–21) and backing up the 3–0 away win from the first leg. Robertlandy Simon was MVP of the final, with major contributions alongside Romanò and Leal.
Women’s finals history: only Bergamo ever completed a 0–2 comeback
A historical feature recalled that only once in women’s Scudetto playoffs has a team overturned a 0–2 deficit to win 3–2: in 2003/04, Foppapedretti Bergamo (photo) flipped the series against Asystel Novara, winning Game 3 in five, repeating the feat in Game 4, then taking the deciding match 3–0. Every other final that reached Game 5 saw the team already leading the series finish the job, with only partial comebacks noted in 2014/15 (Casalmaggiore from 0–1 to 3–2) and 2017/18 (Conegliano from 0–1 to 3–2). The piece was framed by Milano’s attempt to extend the 1–2 series vs Conegliano—an idea that ultimately didn’t materialize.
A1 women’s market: Perinelli to Novara, confirmations across the league
Novara completed its outside-hitter group by officially signing Elena Perinelli. The 30-year-old arrives after a long Italian career (including stops such as Scandicci, Firenze, Chieri, Casalmaggiore, Pinerolo and Perugia) plus a recent stint abroad, and called the move a chance to join an ambitious project.
Bergamo chose continuity by confirming head coach Marcello Cervellin and assistant Milo Piccinini, with the club emphasizing the staff’s human and professional qualities. Il Bisonte Firenze renewed middle blocker Nausica Acciarri (240 points last season), while young Nicole Piomboni will remain with CBF Balducci HR Macerata.
Agnieszka Korneluk announces retirement
Polish middle blocker Agnieszka Anna Kąkolewska—known as Agnieszka Korneluk—announced her retirement. A national-team captain and a key figure at Fenerbahçe, the 31-year-old closed a career spanning more than 20 years, thanking family, teammates and fans. Her honors include four Polish league titles, four Polish Cups and Supercups, the 2025 Turkish Supercup, and three VNL bronze medals (2023–25), plus multiple individual awards.
Spain: Zanini and Valencia part ways
Emanuele Zanini and Léleman Conqueridor Valencia confirmed their separation. The break wasn’t disciplinary but internal: in early March the club temporarily suspended the Italian coach after a post-training incident. Zanini never returned, and assistant Pablo Díaz took over. The issue was described as staff-organization tension rather than dressing-room conflict, leading to a mutual split without sanctions.
Turkey: Ziraat Bankkart strike first in the men’s final
In Turkey’s Efeler Ligi, Ziraat Bankkart won Game 1 of the final against Galatasaray HDI Sigorta 3–1 (25–23, 20–25, 25–21, 25–19), continuing their strong head-to-head trend. Tomasz Fornal starred with 19 points on 72% hitting, with Trevor Clevenot adding 10. Galatasaray’s 19 from Jean Patry wasn’t enough. Game 2 is set for April 24 in Istanbul.
Cuneo keep Maša Pucelj
On the women’s market, Cuneo Granda Volley confirmed Slovenian outside hitter Maša Pucelj for 2026/27. Born in 2006, she scored 308 points in 26 appearances in her first season in Italy (267 kills, 17 aces, 24 blocks).
