Italian Transfer News

MODENA — The busiest stream of the day on Volleyball.it came from the Italian market, especially on the women’s side, where Serie A1 and A2 clubs continued to reshape their rosters for 2026/27. The headline market roundup put the focus on Firenze, Macerata and San Giovanni in Marignano, with Offanengo also moving for Visentin, a sign that the summer construction phase is accelerating across multiple levels.

Among the clearest official moves, Megabox Ondulati Vallefoglia handed the keys of the team to American setter Jenna Gray, presented as the best setter of the 2025/26 Brazilian Superliga. The Marches club is betting on a player coming off a strong season with Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde, and the move gives Vallefoglia an internationally proven playmaker for the next Serie A1 campaign.

There was also a major move at Volley Bergamo 1991, which secured outside hitter Elena Pietrini after her Scudetto-final season with Milano. In another continuity decision, Valsabbina Millenium Brescia renewed Portuguese opposite Julia Kavalenka, one of the main figures in the club’s promotion to A1, while Wash4Green Monviso Volley added outside hitter Bianca Bucciarelli, born in 2001 and coming from Clerici Auto Concorezzo.

Further moves confirmed how broad the market remains. Il Bisonte Firenze signed middle blocker Sara Caruso for 2026/27 after her A1 season with San Giovanni in Marignano, and Numia Vero Volley Milano completed its opposite department with Binto Diop, presented after an A1 season at Cuneo worth more than 500 points. On the men’s side, Cucine Lube Civitanova confirmed Giampaolo Medei on the bench for 2026/27, while ErmGroup Altotevere San Giustino chose internal continuity by promoting Mirko Monaldi to head coach and keeping Davide Marra as assistant and athletic trainer.

International

COSTA RICA — The international headline of the day carried an Italian accent. Ciro Zoratti was named the new head coach of the Costa Rica women’s national team, opening another overseas chapter for the Friulian coach after his experience with the Faroe Islands

Serie B-B1-B2

MODENA — The lower divisions also produced concrete end-of-season outcomes. In women’s Serie B2, Volleyball.it reported that the promotion picture to B1 2026/27 is now almost complete: the ten group winners have been joined by the teams advancing through the playoff route, bringing the new upper-division field close to definition.

On the men’s side, the first playoff verdicts in Serie B delivered four new names for Serie A3 2026/27. Ciriè, Rubicone, Vibo Valentia and Tuscania all secured promotion, turning May 25 into one of the decisive dates of the spring for clubs fighting to move from the national B level into the professional pyramid.
