Volleyball.it closed June 16 with a mix of international coaching news, national-team updates and a fresh wave of transfer-market moves. The main threads of the day ran from Silvano Prandi beginning a new chapter in France to the latest decisions around the Volleyball Nations League 2026, while several Italian clubs continued shaping their rosters for next season.
International
Silvano Prandi is starting again with Paris Volley at almost 79 years of age. After the end of his experience at Chaumont, the Piedmont coach moves to the French capital for another assignment in a career described as stretching across half a century. The same piece recalled Prandi’s place in the world volleyball Hall of Fame and the Olympic bronze medal won with Italy, framing the move as another step in a career that still has no intention of slowing down.
Italy’s men also added a date to their international calendar. The azzurri will play Tunisia on June 19 in Lamezia Terme, inside the new Palazzetto dello Sport, in an event included in the Calabria International Volleyball Experience 2026 project. The match was presented as the next public appointment for the national team in the build-up around its summer program.
VNL Women
The day also brought disciplinary news from the FIVB linked to the Volleyball Nations League 2026. The federation issued three separate measures: a warning for Vital Heynen, a fine for Giovanni Guidetti, and a one-match suspension for José Roberto Guimarães. The report did not place those decisions in a broader narrative, but it made clear that the governing body had already acted formally on three cases connected to the competition.
Italian Transfer News
The busiest section again came from the Italian market. Itas Trentino added Latvian opposite Renārs-Pauls Jansons (foto), a 2002-born player arriving after his season with VK CEZ Karlovarsko. He signed a one-year contract and will wear shirt number 17, another precise piece in the Trento roster for the coming season.
Domotek confirmed the arrival of outside hitter Andrea Asteriti, born in 2007 and coming from Pallavolo Crotone. He joins the team of coach Antonio Polimeni after a period of adaptation. In Serie A3, EnergyTime Spike Devils Campobasso made its first addition for the new campaign by signing Argentine setter Fernando Gabriel Garnica, presented as a player arriving with ambitious objectives for the rossoblù club.
Volley Melendugno used the day to state that its roster work is complete for next season in Serie A2. The update was tied to coach Simone Giunta, who outlined the route ahead for the club, and added that the squad gathering is scheduled for after Ferragosto. Further north, Belluno Volley confirmed middle blocker Enrico Basso for the 2026/27 season. The Padua-born player will remain with the club for a third consecutive championship and aims to be an important figure as Belluno approaches its A2 challenge.
A1 Women
In the women’s top flight, Megabox officially presented Bridi and Blasi (foto). The message from the club was simple: keep growing. The item served more as a statement of direction than a statistical profile, but it confirmed two additions that the Marchigian club has already placed at the center of its next step.
