Margherita Coretti and Micol Lafuenti won silver at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games after losing a three-set final to the Netherlands. The Dutch pair Both/de Groot prevailed 2-1 (21-16, 19-21, 15-11), handing the Italians their only defeat of the tournament. Coretti and Lafuenti had won all six of their previous matches, beating Egypt, Japan and Nigeria in the pool stage before overcoming Paraguay, Argentina and Switzerland in the knockout rounds. Their result is Italy's second Youth Olympic beach volleyball medal, following the silver won by Claudia Scampoli and Nicol Bertozzi at Buenos Aires 2018.

Italy will also be represented in both draws at the CEV Beach Volley European Cup Final in Alanya from 5 to 8 November. Turin-based Beach Volley Training qualified its men's and women's teams by winning the preliminary phase in September. Elisa Fragonas and Eleonora Gili will compete alongside Serena Cimmino and Samantha Guglielmo in the women's event, while Marco Viscovich and Davide Borraccino join Raoul Acerbi and Tiziano Andreatta in the men's competition.
